That Daughter of the Many Breasted One by Kemi Amusan

Men in fields, men in courts behold your light

A promise for your sores a balm for your wounds

That daughter of the many breasted one

She’s been here before she’s done that too

When the new morning dawns and you welcome your sun

Greet the stars of its absence and the moon who birthed them

For she has gone down below she’s reached heights above

She’s had both worlds, she’s conquered all

She treads your high walls unafraid

And lead the way through the pitch black

At the feel of her touch souls heal, at the flash of her pearls hearts soar

Its beauty, her emblem. Its cracks, her song

That daughter of the many breasted one

She’s been here before she’s done that too

So heed her steps you beaten spirit

Feed of her bosom and heal

For she’s gone down below, she’s reached heights above

She’s seen both worlds, she’s conquered all

She spreads your praise and exalt your fame

When you ponder her grace, you gain glory

At her coming kings toss their fangs

For her presence they wage sundry wars

That daughter of the many breasted one

She’s been here before, she’s done that too

Feast in the rich elixir of her Eden

Probe her lips her streams and her valleys too

That daughter of the many breasted one

She’s gone down below. She’s reached heights above

She’s seen both worlds she’s conquered all

Seal in her womb the gift of your rule

Reach amid her thighs and welcome your star

Tell the Emperor he may keep his throne and the prince to hold his allures

Earthly lusts are not her cares

That daughter of the many breasted one

She’s been here before, she’s done that too

Bring forth your lead she will make it sure

Lay down your arms. she will make them strong

That daughter of the many breasted one.

She’s gone down below, she’s reached heights above

She’s seen both worlds. she’s conquered all

She reigns supreme in the heart of all

Igniting the flames that forge our gold
